Zoning
The Municipality of Trent Hills' Comprehensive Zoning By-law is the primary tool for controlling land use within the municipality. The Zoning By-law regulates how land may be used, the location of structures and their permitted uses, and other provisions to ensure proper and compatible development within the community. The Zoning By-law also helps protect environmental and cultural resources so that they can be enjoyed by residents for years to come.
An Office Consolidation of the the Comprehensive Zoning By-law has been prepared by staff for public convenience. The Office Consolidation includes any and all amendments to the Zoning By-law since its initial adoption 2010.
The following Tables make up and are part of the Comprehensive Zoning By-law:
- Table 1 Permitted Uses (August 2024 Office Consolidation)
- Table 2 Provisions For Residential Uses (August 2024 Office Consolidation)
- Table 3 Provisions For Non Residential Uses (August 2024 Office Consolidation)

Land Acknowledgement
We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.
Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.
Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
