Decoration Day - Decoration Day is an annual observance at many cemeteries during which families gather to clean up the graveyard, reconnect with family, and honor the memories of their ancestors. This tradition is generally strongest among rural communities. Decoration Day is most often associated with community-based cemeteries, some of which are connected with a local church. Some family cemeteries on old farmsteads also host a Decoration Day.
