Fire Department
The Municipality operates three fire departments: one in each ward of the Municipality, with a compliment of 57 dedicated and conscientious volunteer firefighters. Some outlying areas are covered under First Response agreements with neighbouring fire departments ensuring a high level of fire protection and medical aid assistance to all areas.

The Fire Chiefs report to the Protective Services Committee on the third Tuesday of each month.
