Amyloidosis Awareness Month - March 2025

The Municipality of Trent Hills proclaims March 2025 as Amyloidosis Awareness Month

The Canadian Amyloidosis Support Network is a federally registered non-profit organization that supports patients and families impacted by amyloidosis. Amyloidosis is a group of diseases caused by the buildup of abnormal proteins in organs and tissues of the body. Left untreated, the disease can result in organ failure and can be fatal. Each year, our organization works to educate more Canadians about the signs and symptoms of amyloidosis and that's why any efforts we can make in your area or other areas in Canada are critical. We know that an understanding of the disease can help since earlier diagnoses can lead to better outcomes for both patients and their loved ones.

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement.

Welcome to the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. It is on these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for
settlement.

Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
