YMCA Northumberland and the Municipality of Trent Hills presents the Sunny Life Recreation & Wellness Centre Grand Reveal Open House
YMCA Northumberland and the Municipality of Trent Hills are thrilled to announce the Grand Reveal Open House at the highly anticipated Sunny Life Recreation & Wellness Centre. With more than two decades of partnership and community effort, this landmark facility will hold an open house for the public on Friday, December 13, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
The 66,000-square-foot centre, located at 50 Seymour Quarry Road in Campbellford, is set to become a cornerstone for wellness, connection, and opportunity in the Trent Hills region. It features a municipally operated arena with an NHL-sized ice pad, YMCA-run aquatic facilities including a warming pool and a 4-lane 25-metre pool, a fully equipped conditioning centre, versatile changerooms, studios and multi-purpose spaces. “The community expressed their interest in having a new recreation centre with an indoor pool almost 20 years ago, and that’s when the work started to make this day happen. Thank you to everyone who supported this project over the years,” said Trent Hills Mayor, Bob Crate. “I am so pleased to extend a warm welcome to this amazing facility. I invite you to come and see all that it has to offer and enjoy the sense of community pride you feel when you walk through the doors.”
The Grand Reveal Open House promises an exciting lineup of activities and festivities for everyone to enjoy. Highlights of the event include official opening ceremonies to mark the occasion, free skating and open swim, and fitness class demonstrations. Families can also look forward to some children’s activities, while guests can indulge in light refreshments.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped toy to support the Trent Hills Fire Department Food & Toy Drive.
“Our new YMCA Campbellford location represents a milestone in our commitment to fostering strong communities,” said Eunice Kirkpatrick, President and Chief Executive Officer of YMCA Northumberland. “This new space is more than just a building—it’s a place where individuals and families can come together to grow, connect, and thrive. We are excited to welcome everyone to this incredible facility and look forward to the lasting impact it will have on the area.”
The Grand Reveal Open House is free and open to all. Community members are invited to experience firsthand the transformative impact of this new facility for local recreation and wellness opportunities in Trent Hills.
